Medical  Clinick Organised by the “Tharunyata Hetak “ will be held at Nihiluwa School on 29 March from 8 to 1 pm.Organizers informed us that facilities are avilable for all kind of Medical test at this camp.Leading Doctors will be attended this camp and organizing committee would like to welcome all the villagers around Nihiluwa.

Surprise visit by H.E. President to Nihiluwa Evillage.

 

Few minutes back, H. E. the President Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksha visited Nihiluwa Maha Vidyalaya. It was a surprise to all the students and the staff. The President directly came to the computer unit and examined our web site and our evillage project.  He also promised us to provide a Nenasala for Nihiluwa evillage

Partners in Learning Regional Innovative Teachers Conference 2010.

The Above Conference will be held in Singapore from 8 March to 11 March 2010. Principal of the NIhiluwa MV will represent this as our innovative teaching methods  .During past Three years we have been using IT as a Teaching tool innovatively. Our computer unit was a best unit in 2009 and currently conducting a evillage concept which will help villagers to improve IT knowkdge.Therefore our school selected as a best IT used School in southern province and granted this valuable opportunity.

We are happy to inform our well-wishers that Three students ,who engaged in evillage project have passed A/L successfully. One student is eligible for university in Art stream.

We know that IT is a major qualification for job market in Sri Lanka.It was learnt that demand for IT skilled persons are very high and yearly Sri Lanka produced  5000.

Therefore we took firm decision to send one of student to SLIIT with the help from German Donor.Vindya already started her IT Degree from this December.This is four year Degree comprised with eight semesters. All the expenses will be sponsored by Donor.

Our next target is to send other two students to SLIIT to follow IT Diploma .It is 12 month course. We kindly requests to Donors  who can help these rural kids to make bright future toward IT industry.

First students to enter SLIIT from Nihiluwa Evillage

Vindya one of our student has passed A/L this year. She is eligible for university.But
One of our donor Mr.Gerd Gilles expressed his willingness to send Vindya to Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology to follow a Degree Bsc (Hons) in IT.This Degree is a four years one and consist eight semesters.Total cost for Degree and the other expenditures will be born by Mr.Gerd.We are very proud about this grate achievement and highly appreciated Mr.Gerd.
Nihiluwa evillage started its work on year 2007.Promoting IT and the English are prominent objectives of our project.Evillage project was initiated and facilitated by Secondary Education Modernization Project of the Ministry of Education.Nihiluwa Public school has earned a name for IT field during past two years.This was a very first one to publish a web site in Tangalle Education Zone.Not only that we were the first school to use web blog writing and use of web 2.0 concept.

Three Days IT Workshops by students from UCSC

Computer society of Nihiluwa MV has organized Three days IT seminar aiming students who will sit for forthcoming O/L exam in this December. We are conducting with in collaboration with the Students from University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC).The leading IT faculty of Sri Lanka is very keen to help rural school with enhanced IT background.We as a best rural IT enabled school in Tangalle Education Zone is proud to say that last year the same workshop has been done with the help from students from UCSC.
