Construction of Our new computer lab has been finished..This building is a two storage one and ground floor can be kept 30 computers and upper floor with 15 computers.Network for ground floor was finished by our students.The equipments worth of 75000 Rs was given by the Deutsch Bank and 10 computers for us.

We also need 20 computer table and 20 chaires.We hope to expand our IT activities for other schools in Beliatta area.Therefore we would like to invite our well-wishers and the kind persons to help us to empower this rural Village with IT.

Donation from a Deutsch Bank.

On 13 May 18, 2011,The date was a significant land mark of our Computer unit when the Leading International Bank in Sri Lanka Deutsch Bank arrived with Computer equipment worth of nearly 600,000 LKR.This Donation included 10 Brand new computers and complete set of network items.The Team comprised Mr Rohan Rodrigo ,Director ,chief Country office along with Mr.Prabath Wickramarathna and four others.

This donation will be helped us to uplift the newly build computer unit up to the best computer unit in Tangalle Educational Zone.We highly appreciated the Deutsch Bank for this valuable donation for the Nihiluwa Public School which is trying it best To improve IT in Rural Sri Lanka.

In addition to the donation worth of 3000 Euro , which is going to be implemented soon Deautsch Bank provided 10 used computers for Ruhunulanka Foundation on last week.We proudly informed our well-wishers that our utmost object is to empower rural community through IT is becoming a achievable target.

With our new computer room it is proved that our works that have been doing since 2006 was significantly acceptable by the various stakeholders around the world. Our committee members appreciated very much this donation.

Rammale mountain is a very beautiful and rich with the Natural water resources and trees. This mountain is situated in western margin of Hambantota District adjacent to Matara District and 2700 feet above sea level.
Several waterfalls can be seen in the mountain region.Many people will be surprised to hear that there are waterfalls in semi-arid region like Hambantota.This waterfall is to be found in the western margin of the District starts from Rammale mountain .Also it riches with beautiful sceneries .

The whole are is fits with Eco-Tourism and we can arrange a Expedition for tourists those who are in interesting Eco-Tourism.

After more than 2 decades, Hambantota is becoming a major hub for Tourism and for the Investors.

Several huge projects are currently being going on and some of them are Botanical garden, Safari park, Conference hall and International cricket stadium in Sooriyawewa.The biggest ever project is a Magampura Harbour which was ceremonially opened by our President on 16 November 2010.This project would definitely open doors to the ships which are passing hambantota to find a destination.

Also a Airport complex at Maththala is being underway. These project will pave the way to improve economy in Hambantota District.To facilitate investors other infrastructures were also improved. Road network, electricity and water facility were developed.

In Hambantota huge amount of working force can be found. Specially IT skilled youth are available .We would like to facilitate Tourists and investors who are willing to come Hambantota to experience how this city is becoming developed.

The first vessel Sri Lanka Navy’s Jetliner entered the Harbor ceremonially.

IT a most controversial subject in Sri Lanka now became a most aggressive topic in rural areas in Sri Lanka too.Ths is story about a School in Rural Sri Lanka. Nihiluwa Public School belongs to Tangalle Education Zone and situated in Beliatta Electorate now gained a prominent place in IT among the Schools in down south of Sri Lanka.They started their computer lab which was granted by Secondary Education Modernization project of the Ministry of Education funded by Asian Development Bank in 2004.They maintained this lab in a convenient way and achieved a best maintained lab in Tangalle Zone in 2008.

Even though there was no IT Teacher for this rural school , the most encouraging story is about a person behind this grate achievements earned from 2004 to 2010.He is Mr Amal a sport Teachers of this school .Without any IT trainings he has done a unbelievable job and later SEMP provided adequate trainings for this Teacher.

First school in Southern province to introduce Blogs for students.
First school in Tangalle Zone to publish school web site
First school based Evillage project.
First school in Sri Lanka to donate a computer lab for village.
Provide Scholarships for students with the help from Donors.

Recently ADB funded Secondary Education Modernization project of the Ministry of Education granted this school wireless facility .This will enabled their students to surf internet inside class rooms and some places around school premises.

Their future target is to become a most sophisticated computer lab in Tangalle Zone and empower all the students in School using IT.They also seek more help from Donors for future developments.

Fact-finding Mission by Delegates from Asian Development Bank

Two delegates from Asian Development Bank (ADB) with Mr. Nihal Herath, an Education specialist for Education for Knowledge Society Programme (EKSP) Ministry of Education, Mr. B. Jayathissa, Provincial Project Manager for EKSP paid a visit to Nihiluwa School on 25^th March to inspect our Evillage programme.

Mr. Amal Gunawardhana, Computer Learning Center (CLC Manager provided a comprehensive insight from the inception of evillage programme implementation in eVillage.

They also visited our second evillage computer lab situated in village temple premises.
